Responsible Leadership - 3 days

Responsible Leadership
Leading Beyond Borders – Building Trust Across Cultures

Course structure and learning objectives

In today’s interconnected and rapidly changing world, leadership responsibility extends far beyond achieving financial results. Effective leadership also includes how leaders navigate complexity, provide orientation and meaning during transformation, and exercise responsible leadership that contributes to the well-being of people, organizations, and society.

In our 3-day workshop “Responsible Leadership”, we address subtle yet significant leadership challenges in intercultural communication. Differences in social values, communication styles, and “unknown” behavioral codes can easily lead to misunderstandings that undermine effective leadership and result in long-lasting conflicts. Leadership collaborations may fail to start or projects may be discontinued altogether because leadership expectations remain unspoken, misaligned, or misinterpreted.

This workshop invites leaders to explore what responsible, conscious, and inclusive leadership means in transcultural, diverse, and multi-stakeholder environments. Participants will examine how personal values, cultural context, and organizational purpose interact in shaping leadership decisions, leadership relationships, and overall leadership impact.

Participants will develop key leadership capabilities and learn to:

  • Balance authenticity and adaptability in cross-cultural leadership
  • Build transcultural sensitivity as a core leadership competence by understanding high- and low-context communication styles and key cultural dimensions
  • Communicate with empathy, respect, and integrity as essential elements of effective leadership in diverse contexts
  • Recognize and address unconscious biases, using bias-management tools to strengthen inclusive leadership
  • Use coaching as a leadership tool to empower others, strengthen reflective leadership practices, and enhance innovation
  • Intentionally foster value-driven, diverse, and psychologically safe organizational cultures through responsible leadership

This course can also be chosen as one of the required Deep Dive Workshops of the Advanced Management Program (Curriculum Track), supporting participants in further advancing their leadership development.
